Job Description:
Fastrip Food Stores is looking for a District Manager to oversee stores in Northern California (from Paradise, CA - Farmersville, CA).
Successful candidate will have experience in retail / restaurant multi-unit management; a proven track record in being part of a team and in leading a team;  excellent training skills; be competent in Microsoft Suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); have a 4 year degree (or equivalent); have dependable transportation and driver’s license; have the flexibility to travel to stores as needed (including overnight stays); ability to use great interpersonal skills combined with solid fundamental knowledge of both marketing and operations to grow sales and profit.
This position is responsible for overseeing a group of convenience stores and fueling stations (15-20 locations), including Fastrip company operated stores (COCOs), Fastrip Operators, and Independent Operators.  Critical aspects of the job include full responsibility for the company stores and working with the Fastrip and Independent operators to maximize sales while complying with all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to fuel dispensing.  Using great interpersonal skills combined a with solid fundamental knowledge of both marketing and operations, the District Manager will be successful in guiding all their stores toward higher profits, improved customer service, and cleanliness both inside the store and outside on the gas islands.
Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for:
  • Visiting all store locations once or twice per month to assess operations and compliance with Operator Lease Agreement and Retail Commission Operating Agreement. 
  • Complete an operational survey at each store monthly
  • Insure that all gas deposits are made in a timely manner and immediately resolve any problems as notified by A/R department
  • Work with Director of Stores to develop annual budget for company run / company operated (COCO), stores and then achieve or surpass the goals each year.
  • Promoting sales increase at all stores and expense control at COCO stores
  • Oversee COCO store operations to insure store is well-stocked, clean, and providing great customer service 
  • Work with COCO manager to insure all transactions are properly recorded on a timely basis to accurately account for inventory on hand.
  • Work with all stores to insure proper reporting to all Jaco Departments of events and transactions including such things as daily/weekly/monthly sales and inventory reports to Accounting, Gas sales and inventory reports, maintenance and safety needs, etc.
  • Communicating to Jaco Departments about store operational concerns such as promotional products, inventory concerns, safety and security issues, and upcoming events/concerns.
  • Work with Merchandise Manager to implement promotions, merchandise the stores properly, insure promotional signage is displayed, and new schematics are implemented
  • Work with COCO managers to insure employee compliance of established store policies and procedures regarding safety, security, sales, inventory, etc.  
  • Work with COCO manager(s) to hire strong employees that will provide excellent customer service, help grow the sales, and grow the team attitude at the store 
  • Work with COCO manager(s) to train and develop all team members.  Train and develop managers so they can become District Managers, and Asst. Managers so they are ready to become managers.
  • Promptly report to appropriate person / department customer concerns, inventory discrepancies, employee issues, liability issues, maintenance problems, etc., in effort to get these resolved.
  • Participating in Store Manager Meetings and other Operational Meetings as required.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Skills:
  • 5+ years multi-unit retail / restaurant experience  
  • 4 Year Degree in Management / Marketing (or equivalent)
  • Solid Computer Skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to build a Team
  • Solid Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Bi-Lingual a plus
  • Experience with fuel sales a plus
  • Positive Outlook and Ability to Persevere
  • Driver’s License and Clean Record
 WORK WEEK - 5+ days (we oversee a 24/7/365 business).  Travel and overnight are required.
PAY RANGE - $70,000 - $80,000 annually DOE + bonus + car allowance
